The Montague Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) located in Montague, Massachusetts tasked JKMuir in evaluating the feasibility of renewable energy technologies at their facility.
Detailed evaluations were conducted for an on-site solar photovoltaic array installation and a mini-hydroturbine on the plant effluent.
JKMuir has extensive experience in the feasibility analysis of renewable energy technologies at wastewater treatment facilities. The analysis at the Montague WPCF included rate structure analysis, energy production capabilities of renewable systems, review of available vendor technologies and quotes for equipment and installation.
In addition, JKMuir explored the potential in state incentives for renewable energy including the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target (SMART) program for solar and the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) distributed by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (MA DOER). JKMuir submitted applications on behalf of the Montague WPCF to the Massachusetts Department of Energy under the GAP II Funding Program for the proposed solar photovoltaic array installation.
