Conducted feasibility study on installation of on-site renewable energy at the proposed 26 million gallon a day pump station. Study focused on development of green technology and evaluated installation of fuel cell and solar arrays. The assessment included projections of the station’s electrical consumption and demand and an economic assessment of the generation system, including Low and Zero Emission Renewable Energy Certificate funding as well as potential cash flows pertaining to virtual and net metering.

 

JKMuir assisted in assessment of decentralized power generation at a 50 million gallon per day water drinking facility. Goals: reduce energy usage, control costs, and improve sustainability of facility operations. A number of options were evaluated, one which focused on the feasibility of installing fuel cells. JKMuir assisted the client in determining the size based on existing power consumption profile and operational needs. The work included working closely with potential vendors and third party entities to assess the economic viability of the installation based on State funding programs, such as the potential sale of Low Emission Renewable Credits, natural gas and electrical projections, and the facility’s electrical demand profile.

 

Developed preliminary analysis of a combined heat and power system at the City’s wastewater treatment facility using anaerobic digester gas. The study assessed the quantity and quality of the biogas produced to determine size of an internal combustion engine and microturbines. The study included an economic assessment of the project and presented options for State funding.

An economic assessment was conducted that included State program incentives and electrical cost projections.
