Project Commissioning

JKMuir provided construction inspection services for the upgrade of aeration and final settling tanks at the MDC's Hartford Water Pollution Control Facility. Project responsibilities included oversight of contractor activities, on-site inspection of construction, equipment installation, and system start-ups, ensuring compliance with bid document specifications, Change Order review, progress reporting, and application for payment review.

As part of the Jacobs team, JKMuir is providing assistance during the commission phase of the New Haven Railyard Component Changeout Facility and, West Haven Railway Station Construction, and Bus Maintenance Facility. JKMuir is providing oversight of the start-up and commissioning of building systems, including lighting, HVAC equipment and controls, on-site electrical distribution, as well as building system automation and instrumentation.

JKMuir is providing both construction inspection services, as well as commission services for the $90 million construction of a wastewater treatment facility expansion. Responsibilities include the schedule, oversight, and documentation of the start-up and commission of all building, mechanical, and process equipment during the three year construction phase of the project. JKMuir developed the detailed schedule of all equipment and systems to be commissioned and the specific protocols for each testing procedure. JKMuir also coordinated and documented each start-up, commissioning, and training event; and worked closely with the contractor, client, and on-site engineering representatives to coordinate these activities without disruption to the project schedule.
